Geotechnical Investigation for Feasibility Study on Dhaka Outer Ring Road: Eastern, Western & Northern Part Project
Dhaka’s rapid urban growth is causing significant traffic increases. To address this, the Strategic Transport Plan (RSTP) for Dhaka, approved in 2016, includes the construction of Inner, Middle, and Outer Ring Roads. The Outer Ring Road will enhance regional connectivity, linking the Padma Bridge to industrial centers like Gazipur, Ashulia, and Savar, and providing a direct route to Chittagong and the international port. It will also improve links to northwest Bangladesh and India and boost public transport in the region. The Dhaka Transport Coordinating Authority (DTCA) prioritizes the Outer Ring Road and has planned a Transport Study, Feasibility Study, and Preliminary Design as initial steps. After these, the DTCA will proceed with the Detailed Design and implementation.
